The 1975 formed in 2002, in Manchester by four schoolmates who used to rehearse together and to perform live in several shows for teenagers, from the age of 15. They changed various names until they choose 1975. The group’s members are Matty Healy (vocals and rhythm guitar), Adam Hann (lead guitar), Ross MacDonald (bass and keyboards) and George Daniel (drums). Their indie pop and indie rock sound contained elements of pop rock and electropop and their first releases were the EPs “Facedown” and “Sex” in 2012. They went to their first tour in the beginning of 2013 and then, another EP came out named “Music for Cars” with the hit “Chocolate” to separate.

It also became no. 1 in both UK and USA album charts and contained the songs “Love Me” and “The Sound”.
The next years, one more EP came out and was followed by the also successful album “A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships” in late November of 2018. It entered at no. 1 and no. 4 in the UK and USA charts respectively, including the songs “Give Yourself a Try”, “TooTimeTooTimeTooTime” and other. The group’s next album is expected to be released in May of 2019.
