Mariah Carey tickets & concert schedule

Born in Huntington, New York, in 1970, Mariah Carey has three ancestries from her parents (Afro-Venezuelan, African American and Irish) and she is one of the most famous singers of her generation, specializing in various genres (R&B, pop, soul, hip hop and more), known for her very strong vocal range.

After the divorce of her parents, Carey stayed with her mother and from a very young age, began dealing with music. She wrote her own poets and after finishing high school she was able to use the whistle register. Her first collaboration was with Gavin Christopher and later became friends with Brenda K. Starr, who helped Carey during her first steps in music. Her first self-titled album was released in 1990 and entered at the top of the charts in the USA. Among the album's songs are the hits "Vision of Love", "I Don't Wanna Cry", "Someday" and "Love Takes Time", that all reached no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Carey won her first Grammy Awards, for "Best New Artist" and for "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance".

She continued with the very successful EP "MTV Unplugged" and her second album, named "Emotions", came out in 1991, with the homonymous song along with "Can't Let Go" to separate. It was followed by "Music Box", with the hits "Dreamlover" and "Hero" reaching the top of the USA chart. Carey toured for the first time and in November of 1994, she released her first Christmas album, "Merry Christmas", which contains "All I Want for Christmas Is You", one of the most popular Christmas songs until nowadays. One more successful album named, "Daydream" was released in October of 1995, which contained the top hit "One Sweet Day", a collaboration with Boyz II Men.

Carey's next two albums, "Butterfly" and "Rainbow", are characterized by their R&B and hip hop style, containing a lot of collaborations with artists such as Sean Combs, Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, Usher and Snoop Dogg. The albums reached no. 1 and no. 2 on the US album charts respectively and contained the top hits like "Honey", "My All" (one of her signature ballads), "Heartbreaker", "Thank God I Found You" and the cover of Phil Collin's "Against All Odds". In the next decade, Carey released five studio albums (two of them also reached the top in the USA charts), including several hits and collaborations. The album "Glitter" came out in 2001, along with the soundtrack of the synonymous movie. It was released after a period that Mariah Carey was vulnerable due to personal problems (divorce and overwork) and had spent almost two weeks in the hospital.

2010's "Merry Christmas II You", was followed by two studio albums, in 2014 and 2018. Carey's discography contains also greatest hits and compilation albums, many collaborations with great artists, while she has toured around the world and had won many music awards, including 5 Grammys, 19 World Music Awards and more. She has also taken part in a lot of movies, with "Precious" of 2009 to separate.
